So I recently subscribed to GLOSSYBOX, if you are unaware of what this is then you are massively missing out. The subscription consists of 5 beauty products a month, these might be products that are new out.  The good thing about this is that it is kind of like trialling products before you buy them, because if you are like me and you sometimes don’t buy products as you want to know whether they are worth the money before buying them, then this box will be good for you. If you like the products in the box then you can essentially go and buy some more of it. Also, you are only paying £10 for the items in the box and from adding up the price from all the products I got in this months box. According to the recommend retail price, the 5 items came to £90.65!! SO YOU ARE SAVING SOOOO MUCH MONEY!!!

Having a box once a month doesn’t only give you something to look forward to each month, but if you’re having a crappy month then this is guaranteed to cheer you up. I ALSO LOVE THE BOX, and when all the products arrived, I opened the box and it smelt incredible!

For me, I subscribed to this monthly box as obviously I am obsessed with makeup, but also because I wanted to branch out and try new products that I wouldn’t normally try. I love the idea of being able to try the products first before considering buying the products. I have only been subscribed for a month, but I already know that from having one box I will be subscribed for a long time.

If this is your sort of thing then I would definitely get involved and check the website out-

This shampoo feels really nice in my hair, it feels like it is doing my hair wonders.

The pigmentation inside this palette is incredible. The pinky colour and the orangey colour are blush shades, but I am currently using the orangey colour and the beige shimmer shade in the bottom left corner on my eyes. It creates a beautiful rose gold colour. The other four colours are eyeshadows, the beige colour on the top row is a matte colour and the one on the bottom is a beige shimmer colour.

This 3 in one bottle is so good! for the amount of time that I have been using it I have noticed such a big difference when wearing my makeup. It is extremely moisturising and a little bit goes a long way. When you apply this, then apply your foundation it goes on really well and evenly. It’s not like one of those annoying moisturises where it stays on your fingers for ages, it sinks in to the face really well. Lastly, it smells FRICKING AMAZING!! IT SMELLS LIKE HOT CROSS BUNS!!!

I LOVE A GOOD EYE CREAM. I have been using this in the morning and at night, and for me it has reduced puffiness.

This teeth whitening tooth paste is really good! It has a sweet minty taste, which sometimes makes it hard to not want to swallow it. When you do rinse your mouth out though, the taste turns really bitter!

Overall, I was very happy with the items I got in this months box. It was a great first box to get and I love every item in the box.

Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip and Oat Cookies

If you love peanut butter and chocolate then today is your lucky day, as I have found an amazing recipe for just that. They are crunchy, delicious and full of flavour!

Ingredients that you will need: (makes 24)

130g good, chunky peanut butter

115g unsalted butter, softened

100g caster sugar

75g light muscovado sugar

1 medium egg, at room temperature

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

150g porridge oats

70g plain flour

1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

100g chocolate chips (milk or plain)

Step one: Combine the peanut butter, softened butter and both sugars in a mixing bowl and mix all of them together. Once all the ingredients are mixed together, beat the mixture well for about 2 minutes until it turns pale in colour and becomes lighter in texture.

Step two: Break the egg into a small bowl and add the vanilla extract. Beat with a fork just until broken up and pour the egg into the peanut butter mixture and beat well for a minute.

Step three: Add the oats to the bowl, then sift in the floor, bicarbonate of soda and cinnamon. Stir everything together. Finally add the chocolate chips and mix into the dough until evenly distributed. Cover the bowl with clingfilm and chill for 45 minutes, just to firm up the dough.

Step four: Towards the end of this time, heat the oven to 18Ooc

Step five: Using a tablespoon, scoop out a spoonful of the dough and roll it into a ball in your hands. Set the ball on a lined baking sheet. Repeat with the rest of the dough, placing the balls on the sheet well apart allowing room for them to spread. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes until golden with darker brown edges.

Step six: Remove from the oven and leave the cookies to cool and firm up on a wire rack. Once cooled they are ready to be served as part of a dessert or as a treat 🙂

REVIEW: Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette

Eyeshadow is my favourite thing to do when it comes to makeup. I love all of the different looks you can do and also exploring new palettes.

I ABSOLUTELY love The Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette. It is probably one of the most popular palettes out there and it has been out for a while. This palette is like holy grail and so I decided to do a blog post on it. This palette was the first of many items that I brought from Urban Decay which was a while ago and I still absolutely love it. I tend to reach for this palette a lot as I really like using brown eyeshadow because the orangey tones bring out the blue in my eyes. In this palette there are a lot of neutral beige colours which are my fave colours to use. Also because this palette never fails me!

The palette was £39.50, which could be considered pricey, however, for Urban Decay it is pretty standard. The price is extremely good for a 12 coloured shadow and especially because it is very durable. Even though my palette has had a couple of knocks it is still in good condition. In a way I much prefer this packaging to the Naked 2 and 3 because it is not as bulky as the other two, but on the otherhand, I think the other two palettes are more compact and obviously the packaging doesn’t allow any knocks or scratches. The colours in the palette are stunning, you have a mixture of shimmer shades, glitter shades and matte colours. One of the colours in my palette has nearly gone, THIS MAKES ME SAD!

The mascara I am using at the moment is the Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara and my go to lashes of all time are the Eylure ones!! can I just also say the Eylure eyelash glue is a god send!!! The Collection Lasting Perfection is the concealer I am using at the moment. The NYX singular shadow is a shadow that I go to if I feel like I need more glitter, because lets face it you can never have enough glitter 🙂

Left to right-

Virgin (which is like a satin shimmered pinky beige), Sin (is like a champagne pinky frosty shimmer), Naked (light matte beige), Sidecar (very shimmery pink), Buck (medium matte beigey-brown), Half baked (shimmery copper golden colour, that has a metallic finish), Smog  (dark glittery brown), Darkhorse (dark glittery brown, with hints of golden glitter), Toasted (it is a very lightly shimmered, medium dark pink frosted colour (I understand that is a lot to read in one go, lol)), Hustle (a dark plum purple colour with a brown undertone), Creep (dark blue colour, with a slight tint of a teal) and Gunmetal (bluey-gray smouldering colour, with a metallic finish)

The colours in the palette are extremely pigmented! Some of the more glittery colours such as Sin, Sidecar, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle are so pigmented that they actually look like creme shadows. The other matte colours are still very pigmented, and they aren’t chalky which is really nice and at times helpful. There is a big varity of colours in this palette, all very neutral but stunning. The colours I don’t really use are the last three- Hustle, Creep and Gunmetal, but I find that with every palette you buy, there are always going to be colours that you will never use. Am I right???

Naked as a base colour, I use this all over the lid. Buck from the middle of the lid, blended out to the outer corner of the eye. Darkhorse used in the crease of the eye and blended. Half Baked will be applied over Buck and Smog will also be applied in the crease. Half Baked will also be used on the brow bone and blended. Darkhorse will be used under my bottom lash line in the outer corner, followed by Buck in the middle and Naked in the inner corner. This is basically just going to mirror what is on top of my eye lid but underneath. Lastly, I will add Virgin to the inner corner of my eye. This eye look is a brown smokey eye look, that I sometimes use for my everyday eye look all year round.

Virgin will be applied all over the eyelid as a base colour. I will then apply Sin on top of this and then add Sidecar to the outer corner of my eye. I will also add a tiny bit of Buck, to the crease just to make the eyeshadow a bit darker. Then using Toasted I will apply this to the outer corner of the eye, going over Buck to tone down the browny shade. I will apply Toasted on my bottom lash line. Virgin will be applied on my brow bone. This eye look is a pink glittery one, mostly used in summer and spring.

Buck is my base colour for this look, and I will apply it over the lid. I will then apply Half Baked all over the lid and make sure it is blended well. Using Smog I will apply this to the outer corner of my eye and inside the crease. I will then also take Smog and apply it under my lash line and blend it, more so in the inner corner then the outer corner. This eye look is a brown glittery one, mostly used in summer.

I LOVE REAL TECHNIQUES BRUSHES AND IM PRETTY SURE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. Their brushes are amazing! I’m sure everyone owns at least one Real Techniques brush, and if you don’t then you are missing out. Most of the eye brushes that I use are either Urban Decay or Real Techniques. Real Techniques brushes are very good quality, you basically get what you pay for and it really comes across when you use them for your eyeshadow. The original packaging with the coloured handle and the black end makes these brushes very popular for being the Real Techniques brand. The good thing about these brushes is that you can buy multiple brushes in a pack, or buy them seperately which is useful. Their Bold Metallics range of brushes are stunning, the packaging is beautiful, and it’s quite annoying just how beautiful they are, because you end up wanting every single brush.

Left to right-

  • Real Techniques Pointed Concealer brush- I use this to do my concealer under my eyes. I use the Collection Lasting Perfection concealor as it is INCREDIBLE for under the eyes. I use the lightest shade in the shade Fair.
  • Urban Decay Smokey Eye Palette brush (this brush actually came with the Urban Decay Smokey palette, and if you have this palette you will know that the brush that comes with it is fricking brilliant! It is a dual ended brush so on one end it has a smallish/just right sized brush which is good for doing the outer corner of your eyes. Then on the other end it has a very small circular brush which is really good for getting right into  the crease.
  • Real Techniques Bold Metallic brush 200, for some reason there are two brushes with the same number and I’m not sure why. The brushes are different the one of the left side, is thinner then the one on the right side. I use these to apply the shadows more so on the outer corners, also to blend and add glitter if I need to. The one on the right side is good for applying glitter as it applies the glitter more evenly. These brushes are good for applying a lot of eyeshadow on at a time.
  • Urban Naked Palette brush- I find this brush really useful to use for glitter. I tend to dab glitter onto my eyes rather than like blending it in. After I blow of the excess glitter, I find that dabbing it on doesn’t make the glitter flake off and it looks more evenly applied.
  • Real Techniques Bold Metallic 201 brush- this brush is good again for using in the crease, but also the brush itself is actually quite small so its good to use on the eyelid if you don’t want to use a big brush. It is also good for blending the eyeshadow under the lash line.
  • Real Techniques Deluxe Concealer brush- this brush is probably one of my favourite eye shadow brushes. I use this brush to blend. So every new colour I apply to my eye, I will blend with this brush. After doing all of my eyeshadow I will then blend the whole thing together with this brush. Also good for putting highlighter under the brows!! Truly a lifesaver!

What’s your favourite thing to do when you do your makeup??

ALSO, would you recommend any eyeshadow palettes?

Twinings Cuppa Tea Time

For those of you that know me, this blog post will not come as a shock to you. I AM AN ALL AROUND TEA LOVER. Tea is essential in life. The catch ups you have over a nice cuppa are some great moments in life. I am sooo used to making tea, that I can actually say that I do make a bladdy good cuppa.

For todays blog post, I decided to do it on fruit infused tea. There are some delicious infused teas out there and they are all very good for you. They help you with different stuff such as your skin and sleep.  I thought this blog post would be good as I love traditional English breakfast tea, but I know some people don’t, so infused tea is a good alternative.

I am going to be talking about my top 3 Twinings tea. Twinings tea are a really good brand that sell herbal teas and basically any fruit you can think of infused in a tea. They have a an enormous range of different flavours so your bound to find a flavour you will love. I also think the packaging of each individual tea is so cute, they decorate each one according to whats in the tea. You also always get alot of tea bags inside to last you for a while. If you do like infused tea and have tried Twinings, then I would also recommend Teapigs, who also sell infused teas. My favourite is the Peppermint one, its sooo good!

The only thing with infused tea is that I HAVE to put at least one sugar in, I just find they are too bitter. Do you put sugar in, or am I just weird?

Alsoooo, do you keep your tea bag in or take it out????  I keep mine in as I finds it adds more flavour 🙂

Camomile tea #1

I have been raving about this tea to everyone since I first tried it, I swear it is like magic. It sounds so silly to say, but it actually makes you feel like it is helping you lose weight. If you are feeling bloated, this tea will do you wonders! Since drinking this particular one I have noticed a massive difference regarding my skin, my face looks more glowing and healthy. I don’t have any dry skin or any spots (touch wood) The taste of this tea might not be everyone’s cuppa tea 😉 as it is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or hate it. The taste is very floral and a tiny bit herby, probably because Camomile is a flower. Imagine eating a daisy, this is literally what I would expect a daisy to taste like. I don’t know whether I have described this as appealing or not, but if you think you would like the taste of a daisy (in a weird way) you will probably like this tea. I would normally drink this throughout the day, and maybe if I am feeling bloated after a meal. I will especially before I go to bed as the Camomile helps you to relax.

Camomile & Spearmint tea #2

I love Spearmint, I am definitely more of a Spearmint than Peppermint kinda girl.. so I knew i would love this tea, also because it has Camomile in it. You can’t really taste the Camomile in it, so if you don’t really like the Camomile then this one could be a good alternative. You would still be getting the benefits from the Camomile without knowing.. if that makes sense. I love minty teas, especially around Christmas time! They are so refreshing and full of flavour, they make your body feel like it is doing it wonders. This tea is quite sweet but not a sickly sweet, so I don’t add sugar to this one. I would drink this tea before i go to bed.

Cherry & Cinnamon tea #3

WOW, this tea is VERY cherry infused. Probably more so than the Cinnamon. This tea is also VERY sweet so I definitely know I am not adding sugar to this one. Out of all of the teas this is probably the one that you feel hit your body the most as it makes you feel very warm. This tea would be good to drink in the winter as it warms you up, and also because it has cinnamon in it which reminds me of christmas. I do tend to reach for this one more so during the winter, as it is a winter drink to me. I would drink this one during the day, just if I fancied something different to drink. The colour your tea turns is such a lovely red cherry colour, it is such a happy and cheerful colour how could you not want to drink it?? This one definitely smells the best out of all 3.

What is your favourite infused tea???

It’s Just Lush

It’s no secret that I am a massssssive Lush fan and if I see a Lush shop, I am going in.

Today I went in to Lush and I really wanted to try something new, something cool, something that I hadn’t tried before so I brought a couple of things.

I think Lush is amazing! the products are really good, they smell delicious and are very affordable. They also make good gifts for people, because who doesn’t love a good bath bomb?

Left to right- Baked Alaska, Rock Star, Snow Fairy Body Conditioner, Snowman Snow Jelly, Cup O’ Coffee, Scrubee Body Butter, Sea Salted Caramel, Baa Baa, Bright Side, Elsie The Giraffe (You’re Havin a Bath), fizz banger, butterbean, Floating Island, The Experimenter, The Comforter, Foot soak and Fancy Fee

What are these products and how do you use them??

Bath Bombs-

A product that you put in your bath, it fizzes, creates bubbles and changes the colour of your bath. The colour of your bath will depend on the bath bomb you use. All bath bombs are different and use different ingredients to help your skin. They always smell lovely.

Butterbear- this bath bomb is actually one of my all time faves from Lush. This adorable Bear moisturises your skin and leaves it feeling silky soft. It has Cocoa butter and ylang ylang inside, and the ylang ylang is used to make you feel super relaxed. It makes you want to fall asleep in the bath (obviously don’t). Cocoa butter is such a good moisturiser for your skin and you feel it working as soon as you get in the bath. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Fizzbanger- firstly, we just need to establish that this bath bomb has POPPING CANDY inside?! sorry what.. when I first got told this in the shop I was like whattttt I need this! The smell of this bath bomb is like citrusy apple with a bit of cinnamon. It makes you feel really warm and relaxed. Also, it has Petitgrain inside which is supposed to help reduce the feeling of anxiety.

Experimenter- Okay so this bath bomb is literally like a firework display in your bath. There are so many different colours that come out of this bath bomb. It makes your bath very colourful, until all of the colours mix together, it leaves your bath a grey colour. Other than that, this sweet vanilla bath bomb smells nice.

Bubble Bars-

A product that you crumble under running water to create bubbles for your bath. They always leave your bath smelling amazing.

Baa Baa- This bubble bar is literally the cutest thing ever. Its a little sheep, awww. It contains lavender, rose and ylang ylang so you would think it smells quite floral. But I think it smells a lot like Snow Fairy (if you are familiar with the famous Snow Fairy then you will love this Baa Baa bar). It has a very sweet smell and is milky in the bath.

Brightside- Very citrusy! it has Sicilian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine oils which are meant to help uplift the skin and make you just look abit brighter all in all. This would be a good one to use in the morning before starting the day.

Elsie The Giraffe (You’re Havin a Bath)- This is definitely the most creative product I have ever purchased from Lush, its so cute! This product is really good as it is a reusable bubble bar, so you can use it more than once, which I think is really good. Once again is very citrusy, it contains lemons and grapefruits and creates an enormous amounts of bubbles.

The Comforter- this sort of looks similar to Brightside. It has a very strong fruity berry smell and turns your bath a lovely purple colour. This again creates a lot of bubbles, and you can always break bits off the bar and use it in your bath, that way you will get a lot more baths out of it.

I’m guessing you know what a soap is..

Rock Star- I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SNOW FAIRY. I know Snow Fairy is one of Lush’s most popular smells and it probably isn’t a shock that I love the smell as most people do. This is me in a Lush product.. with the way it looks and the way it smells. Really creamy when you rub it on your body, smells incredible and ITS PINK!

Baked Alaska- This soap is very bright, cheerful and just all around cool. It leaves your skin feeling very fresh and clean. The soap has a zesty lemon smell, and contains grapefruit oil, lemon myrtle and ylang ylang.

Sea salted caramel- This soap literally smells like a hot sticky toffee pudding. It will make you want to eat it. It smells amazing! it has a very warm vanilla smell with a sea salt crust along the edges. It lingers on the skin for a very long time.

Face and Body Mask-

A scrub that you can use on your face or body. Gets rid of any dead skin that you might have and buffs away any dry skin. Contains granules of some kind.

Cup O’ Coffee- I have never tried a face and body mask from Lush before so I was so excited to use it. It has a very strong coffee smell and contains coffee granules, so if you are a coffee lover like me, this will be right up your street. I love scrubs with granules, they are so good to get rid of dead skin and buff away any dry skin. This scrub brightens up your face, so I would suggest using it in the morning as it will wake your face up and prepare your skin for the day.

Body Conditioner-

This product is used all over the body to condition the skin

Snow Fairy- This body conditioner is similar to a shower gel, although I would suggest rubbing it on to dry skin and then rinsing it off rather then getting your body wet first. This is just because when your skin is dry, it really lets the conditioner soak into the skin.

Shower Jelly-

This product is a mix between a shower gel and a soap. Used all over the body in the shower or bath.

Snowman- This was actually in the Christmas range and there were such a good variety of Christmas jellys. You essentially rub this all over your skin when in the bath or shower and it acts as a soap. It has a fresh citrus smell and it rubs really nicely into the skin. You never really see products like this, so its nice to use something different. When you take it out of the box its in the shape of a snowman, HOW FUN?!

Shower Gel-

I’m guessing you also know what a shower gel is..

Snow Fairy- the famous Snow Fairy but as a shower gel form. It leaves your skin feeling and smelling incredible. The smell lingers for SO long, you will still smell it on your skin the next day. With the shower gels you can get different sized bottles, which is good as there is a verity depending on what size you want.

Body Butter-

This product is a moisturiser, but in the form of a bar of soap. This particular one has coconut granules inside.

Scrubee Body Butter- HOLY MOLY this bar smells fricking amazing. Even just from looking at it, you know it is going to do wonders to your skin. This is also another one of my favourites. I know this one is still quite new but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS product to anyone. It has such a strong smell of Cocoa butter and honey, it contains ground coconut shells. So its not only moistening your body but it is also buffing it. I instantly fell in love with it when I saw it in the shop therefore, I had to get it.

Bath Oil-

This product goes in your bath and slowly disintegrates, it makes your bath really oily.

Floating Island- this oil was the first bath oil that I ever used. I was never really drawn to bath oils, but after the first time of using it, I knew that bath oils would become one of my favourite products from Lush. If you have dry skin this is going to be your life saver. When you put it in the bath and get it, you instantly feel it working on your skin. It contains sandalwood oil, vanilla bean, and lemon oil, oooo smells great.

Foot Soak-

This product is a bath bomb for your feet.

Foot soak and Fancy Fee- I brought this product purely just to experiment what it is like. The product itself really interests me as it is essentially a bath bomb for your feet. Other than the fact it looks like a massive snack a jack it smells really nice. It has a really lovely floral small, I need to emphasise that it is very strong. If you inhale it hard, you are more than lightly to cough or sneeze. Its very flaky and breaks off very easy. Its meant to be really good for your feet and make them feel smoother, so I just thought I would give it a go as I don’t use any foot products.

Dark chocolate and hazelnut brownies

This is any chocoholics dream. If you love dark chocolate and you love hazelnuts then you are in for a right treat. I have been wanting to make brownies for a while now and I thought that this (being my first blog post) would be a good way to start off my blog. This recipe is definitely not for those who are eating healthy as there are probably more calories in these, then in anything I have consumed in my whole 19 years of life.

Now about the sizing of the brownies, they are massive I know! but I LOVE how massive they are, they are just so thick and gooey and alsoooo there is so much more to eat. This is probably just my belly talking. But obviously how big you want to cut the brownie is entirely up to you, I just thought THE BIGGER THE BETTER right?

Ingredients that you will need: (serves 20)

200g quality dark chocolate (70%)

250g unsalted butter

75g hazelnuts (up to you whether, chopped or left whole)

80g quality cocoa powder

65g plain flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

360g  caster sugar

4 large free range eggs

Step one: preheat your oven to 180c and line a 24cm square baking tin with greaseproof paper.

Step two: snap the chocolate into a bowl, add the butter and place over a pan of simmering water, stir regularly until melted. Add in and stir though the hazelnuts.

Step three: sift the cocoa powder and flour into a separate bowl and then add the baking powder and sugar. Stir together.

Step four: add the dry ingredients to the chocolate, butter and hazelnuts and stir well  ensuring there are no lumps. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl then add to the mix, keep stirring until you have a silky consistency.

Step five: pour the brownie mixture into your lined baking tin and put in the oven for 25 minutes. You don’t want to over cook them, you want the outside to be slightly springy and the inside to be gooey. Use a skewer to poke inside,  you don’t want it to come out clean.

Step six: allow to cool in the tray and when cooled transfer onto a chopping board and chop them into chunky squares. Serve when you want and ENJOY 🙂
