The MUST have £3.75 highlighter

B E A U T Y

I love discovering new makeup. I love discovering new makeup that is super affordable and is an absolute steal. I NEEDED to create this post for everyone because I want everyone to know about this highlighter. It is the Wet N’ Wild Precious Petals Highlighting Powder and I paid £3.75 for it! £3.75! The highlighter does come in two shades, this one and more of a silvery shade. I have already created a whole video of me reviewing Wet and Wild makeup so click here to watch that. But in the video, I was so amazed by this highlighter that I needed to create a post on it.

P A C K A G I N G

The packaging of this is pretty standard to be honest. It would have been better if it came with a mirror, but considering it is drug store and you are paying a silly amount for it you can’t really expect a mirror. The pan size of the highlighter is so big, honestly it will last your whole life. It has 5.4g of product. On the actual highlighter there is a flower stamp which I thought was quite cute and it just added something extra to it.

D U P E ?

If you love Jeffree Star highlighters, especially the one in the shade Peach Goddess then I think I have found a dupe for you. It looks exactly the same on the face as the Jeffree star one does, it is the exact same colour and longevity. The only thing that is different is the creamy consistency of them.

IMG_3120

W H Y  I  L O V E  I T !

I want to share what is amazing about this product, why it has brought me so much joy and why I am LITERALLY OBSESSED with it…

It is so creamy – it is smooth and is the perfect creamyness ( is that even a word? I don’t think soo..)

It is buildable. –  You can apply a little bit for a more subtle glow, or you can apply lots for an amazing blinding glow.

SO AFFORDABLE. £3.75 guys! for an amazing highlighter, that is incredible.

The packaging means that everything is compact and tidy. It is lightweight and easy to carry around with you. I actually think the packaging is ok, it doesn’t get dirty at all.

It is cruelty free!

It blends amazingly well

The shade is stunning. I am definitely more of a rose gold highlighter kinda girl because I don’t really tend to wear blush that much so wearing a rose gold highlighter sort of adds a pinky tone to my face.

It doesnt exaggerate pours, or if you have a spot on your cheek bone it doesnt bring more attention to it.

It is easy to work with and it isnt messy. Sometimes you get highlighters that are sooo creamy that they are hard to work with. NOPE NOT THIS ONE!

This highlighter is a staple in my makeup routine. This will go down well for one of someones birthday or christmas presents. SO SO SO GOOD!

That being said, now you have to buy this highlighter and I want to know your thoughts on it. Or if you already have one of their highlighters, what are your thoughts? Do you love it as much as me?

COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER NEW SHADE VS FAIR I

B E A U T Y

Hey guys. I feel like it has been soooo long since I did a proper beauty related blog post!  I was actually meant to upload this AGES AGO.. but I have had other posts scheduled. I also have 2 essays due soon, so just trying to stay on top of it all.

I am so excited for this post because I am talking about something I absolutely love and a lot of people seem to love too. I was going to do a Youtube video on it, but I wanted to do it on my blog instead. I would love it if you could check out my Youtube IT WOULD MEAN EVERYTHING TO ME!

In today’s post I am going to be talking about the NEW (it has been out for about 2 months now, I’m just VERY late to the game)  Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer EVERYONE LOVES THIS CONCEALER AND IF YOU HAVEN’T TRIED IT, WE CAN’T BE FRIENDS ANYMORE. Just joking, but honestly if you haven’t tried it. ARE YOU OK?! it is such an amazing concealer I normally use the shade Fair 1, but they recently brought out  an Extra Fair 0.

Be prepared to see my face without any makeup on, I’m just warning you 🙂

fullsizeoutput_348b

DSCN3612
EXTRA FAIR 0, LEFT SWATCH. FAIR 1, RIGHT SWATCH

Firstly, you can already see that the newer shade has more of a yellow undertone and the old shade has more of a pinky undertone.

Secondly, the packaging on both bottles of concealer is exactly the same, they haven’t changed the packaging at all. They both have 6.5ml of product inside and have a shelf life of 12 months. They both retail for £4.19 and if you are a student and have a Uni days and a Superdrug card you can see student discount in Superdrug.

fullsizeoutput_3514
OH HI. NEW SHADE- EXTRA FAIR 0.

I have applied the new shade to my right side of the face in person, but on here it is the left side. It has the same consistency and is the same formula as the old concealer just is more yellow.

fullsizeoutput_3510
FAIR 1

This is obviously the old shade, FAIR 1. As you can see, it is more of a pinky undertone which does suit my skin better as I have red tones on my face. This shade doesn’t have the same coverage as the newer shade, this one looks more streaky.

*HAD A QUICK BLEND AROUND THE OL’ EYES, USING A BEAUTY BLENDER*

fullsizeoutput_351a

AND IT IS BLENDED. This is what my face looks like after both sides have just been blended out. Also, don’t ask me why my right eye looks smaller than my left eye, it might have something to do with the fact that i literally.. LITERALLY.. just woke up to take these pictures.

As you can see, they both blended out beautifully and they sort of look the same. They both have the same coverage, I wouldn’t necessarily say that the new shade performs different better the shade Fair 1.

DSCN3655
OH HI MASCARA ON MY LID THERE -_- YOU JUST CHILLIN OR???

I did the rest of my makeup and went out for a bit then wanted you all to see what it looks like after a couple of hours. So I obviously have very fine lines under my eyes anyway, but I think the concealer looks great under both. I mean, it probably does look a tiny bit lighter on the new shade side but you can’t tell I am wearing two different concealers.

DSCN3661
OLD SHADE SIDE
DSCN3662
NEW SHADE SIDE

I don’t personally think that you can see a difference. I mean I will probably still pick up the new shade when I go to get the concealer, just because it is meant to be the lightest shade. Other than that, I think they are both pretty much similar. They both blended out the same and they both had the same longevity.

What do you guys think? can you see a difference?

1 YEAR OF BLOGGING

L I F E S T Y L E

fullsizerender-e1517596752582.jpeg

What a year I have had and it has completely flown by!

I can’t believe that I have been blogging for a YEAR!!! WHAT!! a whole year. 365 days you guys!! that is so crazy and I can’t believe it. I have had such an amazing year blogging and I have learnt so much.

In this year of blogging, I would say I have had such a lucky year. I have made such amazing blogger friends, online and offline.

I have worked with some amazing companies and made incredible relationships with them. I have also been paid for creating content, WHICH IS GOOD BUT ALSO STILL BLOWS MY MIND.

I have been to some amazing events and had such a brilliant time.

I have reached over 800 followers – THIS SHOCKS ME THE MOST. It baffles me so much that over 800 people have physically gone onto my blog and clicked follow! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO FOLLOWS ME.

I started Youtube and so far I am loving it and have recently a lot of good feedback! check out my channel here

I have learnt a lot more about social media and blogging. I have learnt that:

  • People only show you what they want you to see
  • There are people in this world that will try to bring you down just to try and succeed.
  • There are very competitive people out there that only care about either the money or their followers.
  • People will have different opinions to me and that is ok, but if they are rude BLOCK THEM
  • Some people will think that because they have a bigger following that they are “better” than others and that is NOT the case.
  • Know your people. Make sure they don’t lie just to please a brand and that they are 100% honest
  • Don’t get stressed out if your Instagram / blog isn’t looking how you want it to look, you can always take time out to focus on it
  • Some brands don’t realise and understand that bloggers work hard for the content they create and that they wouldn’t get free advertising anywhere else so why is working with a blogger any different.
  • STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF & DON’T COMPARE YOUR JOURNEY TO SOMEONE ELSES.

Thank you so much to everyone who continues to support me on a daily basis, whether this be liking a blog post, subscribing to my Youtube or commenting on one of my Instagram pictures. THANK YOU ❤

4 Christmas Eyeshadow looks | Blogmas day 23

Hey guys and welcome to Blogmas day 23

So this year I am only doing Blogmas up until tonight because tomorrow I have work all day and I figured, is anyone really going to want to read blog posts on Christmas Eve? I thought this post would be a lovely one to end Blogmas on, to maybe give you some inspiration for eye makeup on Christmas Day. You can wear these to work if you are unlucky like me and have to work tomorrow, or even Christmas Day! To create all of these eyeshadow looks I used a range of different palettes, of course I used the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette, my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette and the Nyx Brights Palette.

I don’t know why I always decide to do eyeshadow looks when I need my eyebrows threaded so bad, so annoying but just don’t judge ya girl has been hard at work.

Look 1.

fullsizeoutput_2dda

DSCN3036

I used a red shade all over my lid, then used a metallic green colour on top of my lid and used the matte green version of the metallic in the outer corners. I put some gold in my inner corner and red under my eyes along my lash line.

I really like this look, I think it is a nice subtle christmasy look and the eye look that I have been wearing most throughout December. I like the little element of Christmas but it isn’t too much, it’s an everyday eye look that you can wear anywhere. If you feel like your not adventurous with eyeshadow but want to start getting in to I more. This eye look would be great for you. I think this eye look is so so pretty and it would look lovely with every eye colour.

Look 2.

fullsizeoutput_2de1

fullsizeoutput_2de2

I used a yellow shade on my outer corner and then placed a gold all over my lid, then I did a heavy winged liner and put gold in my inner corner and on my lash line.

This one is so different to anything I would normally wear on my eyes. I don’t really like to wear winged eyeliner a lot because it makes my eyes look really small. I love the gold though, it is such a stunning colour and so christmasy. I love the yellow and then the blend into the gold. This eye look is really out there and I think it is because you don’t really see a lot of people wearing gold/yellow eyeshadow. People will for sure notice your eyeshadow! You could do the same with a glittery silver and a nice wing.

Look 3.

fullsizeoutput_2ddd

fullsizeoutput_2de3

I have used a red and a Burgundy colour all over my lid and then placed a cranberry colour all over the lid and blended green on my lash line.

I love this look, I think It is the pop of green under the lash line that catches my eyes. I like that it is a really nice eye look with the cranberry colour and a bit of sparkle, then you get the pop of green. I think it is really stunning and such a wearable eye look.

Look 4.

fullsizeoutput_2de0

fullsizeoutput_2ddf

I used a green all over my lid and then did candy cane strips on my lid and then ran over my lash line with the same red and also a red glittery shadow and a gold glittery shadow. Finally placed the same gold in my inner corners.

I love love love this eyeshadow look, I feel so creative it looks so fun! it turned out so better than I thought it would. This one is very out there, probably one that I will wear to work tomorrow or wear on Christmas Day. I love it and I love how adventurous it is. You would definitely get compliments on your eyeshadow because it is so cool. It didn’t actually take that long to do, the only advice I would give is used a small brush to do the white and red stripes you don’t want them too thick. I love this whole look as a whole, I think it is fab!

Which one was your favourite eye look? which one are you most likely to wear?

And that is it guys!!! they are my 4 Christmas eyeshadow looks! Thank you to everyone who has kept up with my Blogmas posts and thank you for all of the continuous support! I hope you liked the post and HAVE AN AMAZING CHRISTMAS and an awesome New Year!

December faves so far | Blogmas day 17

Hello guys and welcome to Blogmas day 17!

Today I have for you a VERY VERY VERY random selection of some of my favourite things half way through time this month/end of November. I have been mostly obsession over some of these things, as I have really enjoyed what ever it is. I hope you like this post and I hope your December is going well so far.

Santas Travels Reversible Duvet Covers

£4.00 (Very very good pricing can I also say)

My first favourite is my bed sheets that you will see throughout this post. They are blue and have Santa and reindeer’s on them. I love that they are really different Christmas bedding, they aren’t your typical Christmas bedding and I think they are cool. They are also Reversible and on the other side they have red and white strips which reminds me of candy canes. They make amazing backgrounds for my blooms posts haha. I have been loving them since I brought them, very snug and christmasy.

Ultimate Christmas Playlist

I made a Spotify Christmas playlist and it was actually in my first Blogmas post this month, I am obsessed with it. It is such a good playlist, I am kind of proud about it. If you get a chance to check it out I really would 1) appreciate it and 2) recommend it. I know the order of the songs which just shows that I am too obsessed. I like linking it to my car’s radio and listening to it while I am driving, Christmas songs in the car is the best.

Zoella Cream Scrub

£5.33 (currently on sale in Superdrug)

I got this in the summer when her range first launched and I love it so much. I have been using it for a while because it really exfoliates/moisturises my skin when I use it and I absolutely love this smell. The smell from this range is definitely my favourite scents out of all of her ranges. I love that it isn’t just like a normal body scrub because it is really creamy too so you have to really rub it onto your skin to lather it up. I did a whole post on a couple of her products from this range so click here to read that.

IMG_5105

Arthur Christmas

£2.99 ( you could probably get this also on Amazon, I got mine from Tescos and paid £5 for it so you are getting it cheaper)

Guys, I have an obsession. I love this film so much, I watch it at least once a day and someone like 3 times, I just leave it on. I think this film is sooo amazing and has such an amazing storyline. If you haven’t seen it then you need to because it is really good and anyone will love it. It is apart of my best Christmas films to watch blogmas post where I go into more detail about the film.

fullsizeoutput_2d0c

Primark Individual eyelashes

£1

I really want to get into doing my own individual eyelashes and so I have been using these Primark ones. They are only £1 which is good because I am practising still and also primary Sultry lashes are some of my absolute favourite lashes. I like putting these lashes on the outer corner of my eyes to give them more volume and it really makes your  eyes stand out. There are 60 in a pack which is good considering they are £1, and they have different lash lengths in case you want smaller ones or if you want big ones.

fullsizeoutput_2d0f

Real Techniques PowderBleu brushes

Soft Powder Brush B01 £22

Soft Complexion Brush B03 £22

Soft Finishing Brush B02 £22

Soft Shadow Brush B04 £15

I got sent these a while ago, and they are amazing. Yesterdays Blogmas post was actually on these so click here to see me go into more detail.  I love everything about these brushes, the colour, the shape, the way it performs..everything..I think they are such good quality brushes and you really can’t go wrong with some new brushes. I have been loving using the eyeshadow brush and the complexion brush.

fullsizeoutput_2d15

Bisto Gravy

75p (currently on sale in tescos)

Yes, I had to add it.. it wouldn’t be the same without it. It is Bisto Gravy!! in the picture below I had to use the Beef one we had, but I do actually loveeee the chicken one. I think it is so yummy and I have it with literally every dinner. Nothing beats having gravy on your dinner, especially during the colder months because gravy is everything. It keeps me so warm and honestly makes me so happy to eat my dinner.

IMG_5109

All the Bright Places

£5.59

I have been completely sucked into this book. IT IS FAB! such a brilliant book, I haven’t finished it all yet but I am really enjoying reading it. This is the blurb on the back of the book ..

“When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.”

If this sounds like your kind of book then I would 100% recommend it. It is funny, heart warming and you really get sucked into it and once you read the first chapter you honestly can’t put it down.

fullsizeoutput_2d11

Mince pies

Any 2 for £2

YES, MINCE PIES! I love a good mince pie. They are such an essential part to Christmas, without mince pies is it really Christmas?

These are sooo good and I could literally sit there eating them all day. They are such a good snack to have if you are feeling abit peckish (only annoying thing is that they are high in calories) but other than that. I would recommend!! Comment below if you had never had a mince pie before, and also how many boxes of mince pies do you go through over Christmas

After writing this out, I legit went downstairs and got a mince pie hahaha!

fullsizeoutput_2d1a

Rimmel Stay Matte in Fire Starter & Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder Collection (this product has been discontinued, I have just noticed now)

£5.99 & 4.19

The Rimmel Stay matte lipsticks are really good, probably my favourite liquid lipsticks currently. They stay on all day and they are so lightweight, they don’t get cakey on your lips and they don’t go crusty. You apply it and it will stay on all day without cracking or creasing. This colour is so stunning, such a red Christmasy colour. I will apply it in the morning when I get ready and it will still be on by the end of the day, even after everything I have eaten and drunk throughout the day.

Collection eyebrow powder, I received this in my Glossybox for November and have been using it ever since. I just clicked on the link for Superdrug and apparently it has been discontinued, which is sooo annoying because I wouldn’t have included it because you can’t get it anymore. However, I love how it makes my brows look, it makes them really defined and it matches my eyebrow colour perfectly. The nib is like an eyeliner nib, which is really different to use on my eyebrows but it works so well.

fullsizeoutput_2d17

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

£16

I have been using this for a couple of months now and I am obsessed with it. It makes my skin look and feel so good. I don’t use it to take off my makeup, but I use it to cleanse after taking my makeup off. It gets rid of all of the crap still left on my face after taking my makeup off. I think that it is really good that it comes with 2 cloths and I would highly recommend this product, it is definitely worth the money.

fullsizeoutput_2d1b

Pink Pom Pom Hat & Faux Fur Beanie

£4 & £2

I love these two hats because if I want to wear a really thick chunky hat then the pink one is that or if I want to wear a hat but one that isn’t as big and thick then I will wear the beanie one. The pink one is such a lovely cute pink colour and it is really thick so it keeps my head and ears warm and it goes well with my pink coat. I love the other hat because it is such a lovely burgundy colour and it goes well with my Rimmel Matte lipstick and it is such a nice christmasy colour. They are both really good winter hats and I would definitely check out Primark’s hat section because they have a wide variety.

I have been so so so busy with work and University. I had a presentation on friday morning and then finished in the afternoon. The last couple of days I have been so sleep deprived it is unreal. Anyway, I am so excited for this post because I have been meaning to do it for so long now but wanted it to be apart of my blogmas this year. I am reviewing the Real Techniques PowderBleu brushes. Thank you to Influenster for sending me these free brushes to review. You can get any of these brushes from Boots or Superdrug.

I got sent the Soft Powder Brush B01 £22

Soft Complexion Brush B03 £22

Soft Finishing Brush B02 £22

Soft Shadow Brush B04 £15

First of all I want to start of by saying that these brushes are absolutely stunning, you can see that Real Techniques have upped their game once again, even with the box packaging. They are like their Bold Metals Collections brushes, but they are black and blue.

IMG_4546

I really like the box packaging, it is a circular tube that you pull out from the top and the brush comes out with it. This is such a cool unique way for each brush to be stored, it also makes them look and feel super luxe. I don’t think you can buy the brushes together as a set, they are individually sold. They do also have a Powder Puff and a Kabuki Brush for sale but I got sent these ones.

IMG_4560

fullsizeoutput_2d1e

I love how luxe they look and I think the blue and the black go really well together. The brushes themselves go from black and then fade into blue and the bristles on the brushes are dark blue, which I think is stunning. I like that they are really long brushes because you can control what you are doing with them more and I think even one of thesr brushes would be a great present.

Soft shadow brush

I was so excited when I saw this brush because I love eyeshadow and out of all of the brushes this is the one I was the most excited about. It is a really big eyeshadow brush that is slightly tapered, which is good for putting down your first colour and blending the colours out. This brush is so big which is one of my favourite things about it because if you are in a rush, you can choose a colour and apply it with one big swipe from this brush and thats it your good to go. This brush picks up so much product which is really good also. Before I start doing my makeup I do have to run the brush over something like a tissue to get rid of the access eyeshadow from the last time I used it.

IMG_4582
Soft Finishing Brush B02

This brush reminds me of their other brush in the Bold Metals collection, the rose gold one. It is tapered and I find this brush so useful for doing my highlighter. It picks up the colour well and I really enjoy using it. It is big and fluffy and I can just quickly apply my highlighter with this. I also sometimes use this brush along with my Spectrum brush for my contour (I do wipe off the highlighter first lol) This is actually a good brush for contour because it gets right into the cheek bones because there is a point to it.

IMG_4583
Soft Complexion Brush B03

Oh my!!! I have been loving using this brush so much for my foundation. It is a flat dense brush that I find is really good for applying my foundation, I am able to really buff it in to my face and I really enjoy doing my foundation with this brush for that reason. My foundation looks really well applied when really I have just buffed it in with this brush. It picks up alot of foundation but doesnt absorb too much product. It is really dense, but soft at the same time and I can feel that the brush is extremely soft, such a great great brush!!!

IMG_4584
 Soft Powder Brush B01

This is the biggest brush out of them all and it is sooooo soft!! it is so satisfying to put swipe a finger over the bristles because they are so flimsey and just floppy which i like for a powder brush. I use it to powder my face after my base is done to not only add some extra matte but just to help the oily spots on my face. It is slightly tapered again and I like that, when I put the product onto the brush it covers my face well and I don’t need to swirl my brush in the powder too much. This brush picks up a lot of product which is good and it is a good size for a powder brush, not too big but not too small.

I have been using the brushes now for about 3 weeks since I have had them and I can honestly say that I would have added these to my Christmas list and so I think you should too. I have been such a big lover of Real Techniques for years and years and I always watch Sam and Nic on YouTube, they are great. I would highly recommend these products to either ask for or buy for someone. If you know someone who is really in to eyeshadow then buy them B04 or if you know someone who needs a good contour brush then buy them B02.

I have been using Real Techniques for such a long time now that I know they are such reliable brushes, therefore I do think they are worth the money. However, I can see why some people think they are expensive because they are the most affordable brushes out there. However, they are such AMAZING quality, I can’t emphasis that enough. They wash amazingly well and they don’t shed at all. Not only are they stunning, but they will also last you for such a long time.

You need this brushes on your Christmas list and if you already have these brushes then I would love to know in the comments down below.

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette review

– BEAUTY –

I am sure that you have probably seen many reviews on this palette so far, but I had to upload one because THIS PALETTE IS THE BEST PALETTE IN MY LIFE. Thank you so much to my boyfriend for getting me this palette!

So this palette launched in America and then it came to Beauty Bay, for all of us in the UK who were crying over not having it. It is £37 which to be honest, I didn’t think was that bad. You are getting 35 amazing quality eyeshadows, with a beautiful range of colours and textures and It was also created by a Youtube; Jaclyn Hill.. therefore, it is bound to be more expensive compared to their other palettes. I didn’t mind the price for this palette, I think it is really worth it and I would have got it if my boyfriend hadn’t got it for me.

fullsizeoutput_251a

The packaging of the box is identical to the packaging of the palette. Inside the box packaging the palette came wrapped in bubblewrap which made me feel more at ease when opening it. The box packaging was made of cardboard. I do really like the colour being white but also it does get VERY dirty, really easy which doesn’t bother me that much because I can just wipe it.

fullsizeoutput_2509

This is what the back of the box looks like. Some people didn’t seem to like, however I think it is quite nice. I like that she is taking directing to her subscribers and basically saying that without them she wouldn’t have created it etc..

fullsizeoutput_2138

This is the inside look of the palette and can I just say, I waited a whole day to take pictures before using any of these colours!!! that is dedication!! I love the whole colour selection, I absolutely love warm tones so this palette for me is my ultimate dream. There are a couple of cool tones in this palette, but the majority of the colours are warm tones. I like the mix between mattes, shimmers and glitters. I think there is a good selection of all types of shadow. There are a couple of colours in this palette that I am going to have to push myself to use such as the purple, blue and couple of greens. I did create a look using the blue and purple and I absolutely loved it. I like that this palette does have a pop of colour here and there as it pushes you to challenge yourself with eye looks.

There are a couple of things that I would change about this palette if I could. 1) the first two colours are a cream highlighter colour and they are basically identical so I would have changed one of these to a matte shade, there isn’t a white/cream shade that you can use all over the lid. 2) it would have been nice to have a mirror inside the palette, otherwise you have to carry around a separate mirror. 3) I would have loved it if the names of the colours were on the palette, i think this is an essential in a palette to be honest. I do have a name card here, if you want to print it out and stick it to your palette.

THE COLOURS ARE STUNNING! Let me know in the comments before what you think about the colours in the palette

fullsizeoutput_251c

NAMES OF THE COLOURS-

Top row- Enlight, Beam, Silk Creme, M.F.E.O, Faint, Sissy and Little Lady.

Second row- Creamsicle, Butter, Pooter, Pukey, Hunts, Firework, and Queen.

Third row- Obsessed, S.B.N, Hillster, Roxanne, Jacz, Buns, Cranapple

Fourth row- Royalty, Twerk, Hustle, Meeks, 24/7, Chip and Mocha

Five row- Pool Party, Jada, Diva, Enchanted, Central Park, Soda Pop and Abyss

All of the shades in this palette are really creamy and they all blend amazing. The glitters aren’t chunky at all and don’t really have any fall out which is good, although I don’t mind fall out at all. You don’t really need to use glitter glue or concealer on your eyes before putting the glitters on as they are bold and pigmented without it. They feel wet when you touch them with your fingers and they are all so stunning.

The mattes are also really pigmented, they aren’t chalky which I really love. They blend really well and you get a lot of product from just one swipe. There are so many mattes in this palette for you to just create a matte eye look.

fullsizeoutput_2146
First row

There are a mixture of shimmers, glitters and matte in this row. The third and fourth colours are what I will use all over my lid before starting the look. It would have been nice if the first or second shade was a matte, although these are stunning brow/inner corner shades. These colours are the lightest colours in the palette, they are stunning!

IMG_1249
Second row

This second row of colours and the third row are like the autumnal rows for me. They are packed with reds, golds and browns and this row for me is literally everything! This row mostly has mattes in it with a couple of glitter shades, with the glitters I really love that they aren’t chunky glitter, they feel wet when you touch them.

fullsizeoutput_2529
Third row

This row has a mixture of mattes and glitters and these mattes are what I have been reaching for the most at the moment. These are such christmasy/autumnal colours. The first two glitters are really christmasy, I can’t wait to create some lovely Christmas eyeshadow looks with these.

fullsizeoutput_2528
Fifth row

The next two rows are the more cool toned and adventurous. These rows have some pop of colour. This row has a stunning purple and a lovely royal blue shade. These are lovely colours and when I first opened/saw the palette my eyes were drawn to these colours, but I also thought how am I ever going to use these colours. I did create a look with both of these colours and it was gorgeous. There are two mattes in this row and I use these mattes quite a lot.

fullsizeoutput_252c
Last row

This row really reminds me of a mermaid. I absolutely loved the pops of colour in this row, and I am actually so happy that Jaclyn included darker green shades because I have never used these colours on my eyes before and I really wanted to use them on my eyes. all of the colours are sooo pigmented and a little bit of eyeshadow goes along way. This is the most cool toned the palette gets, I’m happy there are a couple of cool tones in there. I am so glad that there is a black in this palette because I think for any palette it is essential, which is why I wished there was a white matte shade on the top row.

I think this palette is 10000% worth the money, and I would advise everyone who wants the palette to get it as it is a life changer. This palette for me as been probably the best palette on the market in years. There is everything you need in one palette. You can tell that the eyeshadows are AMAZING QUALITY, I can’t stress that enough, they are all so creamy and consistent that it is actually crazy. I can tell that Jaclyn put a lot of thought and effort into this palette and it has really paid off.

What are your thoughts on this palette? Do you have this palette?

proto-col skincare review

– LIFESTYLE –

This blog post is well over due, I have been so busy I haven’t had time! there definitely needs to be more hours in the day. Who agrees?

Thank you so much, proto-col for sending me* these products. I AM OBSESSED. I have been using these every single day since I received them. I love how all of them do different things and you can really tell what each of them does.

Intense hydration night cream – £19.97 (on special)

Collagen facial serum – £39.95

Baked mineral colour correct – £27.95

proto-col as a brand-

I had never heard of this brand before, they definitely deserve some more recognition.

They not only have products for the face, but also products to help you recover after working out (such as supplements etc..) The brand has been supplying celebrities, professional athletes and members of the public for 15 years! (that is crazy!!)

The price:

I can see why these are pretty pricey because they are really good products. If you know that they work then they are definitely worth the money.

DSCN2429

I love this pink colour. The baked colour corrector has 9g of product inside which isn’t too bad.

DSCN2432

DSCN2433

As it is a colour corrector you can see all of the different colours inside. All of the colours come together in order to make your face look as natural as possible, so to blend everything out nicely and make it look flawless. It is quite chalky, which I don’t particularly mind, but once you give your brush a swirl there is some fall out. I use it all over my face after my foundation, just to make everything blend well and cover up anything that needs covering up. I have really been liking using this because I like that it calms down all of my uneven skin tones on my face, which does bug me a lot. I do have quite a naturally red face so I do try to use a lot of this.

I like that the outside packaging of the product is like a mirror because I found this really useful. Also I like the shape of the product, it is like a dome shape. I do sometimes find it hard to open, so I have to sometimes use my teeth.

Paraben free

Suitable for all skin types

DSCN2421

The packaging for both the box packaging and the product packaging is really similar to the night moisturiser. The packaging of the bottle is really different to anything I have ever used before.

DSCN2423

I use this before I used the night moisturiser and they work really well together. This product has a really cool lid, you twist the top silver bit to the side and the nozzle from inside pops up. You do have to hold the silver bit otherwise it will scroll back down. The bottle is plastic, even though at first I did think it was glass. There is all of the essential writing on the face of the bottle and half of the bottle has a ‘frosted glass’ look which I love. There is 30ml of product inside and the shelf life is 12m.

I really like what this does to my skin, it really brings my skin to life and keeps it hydrated. I have really sensitive skin and this hasn’t reacted to my skin at all, which makes me happy. The consistency isn’t thick, in fact it is like a gel which I like. It blends into the skin really well and it doesn’t linger on your fingers. I can’t really describe the smell but if I had to I would say it smells like medicine but with a sweet smell.

Suitable for all skin types.

Made from the highest quality ingredients including collagen, royal jelly and essential oils.

DSCN2417

I do really like how simple the packaging is, and it has everything on the outside that you need. It isn’t covered in lots of pieces of information all of that is left on the box, but the most important parts are on the bottle.

DSCN2418

Again, I love the whole frosted glass look I think this is really cool. You can tell that proto-col have been really original and created packaging that I have never seen before. Inside this night cream you get 50ml and it has a shelf life of 12m. I have really sensitive skin and this has worked amazing for me. I have been using it every night for about 3 weeks and my skin hasn’t been dry (PERFECT FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!) The liquid comes out more like a foam and then it blends as a normal moisturiser would. It isn’t thick and is the perfect consistency. It smells abit floral but also smells abit soapy. (if you havent noticed I’m not the best at explaining smells)

Suitable for all skin types.

Paraben free formulation.

Moisture rich ingredients including plant-derived collagen and hydrolysed silk protein.

fullsizeoutput_205f

With this nozzle you don’t have to twist the silver bit, you just push down the top and the liquid comes out of the little nozzle. I definitely prefer this to the other lid as you won’t lose product when the silver bit twists downwards.

If you are looking for a duo skin care then the serum and the night cream are definitely worth the money, especially during these colder months when you need to keep your face moisturised. If you are looking for a great colour corrector / a powder (that will sort out your uneven skin tones) then this is for you.

Have you heard of this brand before?
